The set includes an 8m length of flexible PET strip with 3M double-sided tape on the backside. Fitting is straightforward: no need to air-bleed tyres or use a lifting jack. One person can complete the installation using only scissors, making it more labour-saving than traditional methods. The strips adhere directly to alloy wheel rims and are easy to replace when required. They fit wheels up to 22-inch diameter and come in ten colour options. Depending on wheel size, one set can decorate several wheels: 16-17 inch wheels can be decorated on 5 wheels with some left over, 18-19 inch wheels on 5 wheels, and 20-23 inch wheels on 4 wheels. This makes the set a versatile choice for car owners wanting to add a decorative trim or protect rims from minor damage.

Features and Construction

The strips are made from PET, a thermoplastic polymer that provides flexibility, and are backed with 3M double-sided tape for adhesion. The 8m length and universal fit allow use on a range of alloy wheel sizes up to 22-inch diameter.

Material and Build

The main material is PET, chosen for its flexible nature so the strip can follow the curve of a wheel rim. The backside carries 3M double-sided tape, which is pre-applied for immediate fitting. The strip is lightweight, adding minimal weight to the wheel. It is also described as durable, meaning it is made to withstand the usual conditions around a wheel rim without specifying a particular lifespan. The combination of PET and 3M tape supports a straightforward installation process without specialist tools.

Size and Practical Fit

Each set provides 8m of strip, equivalent to 26.2ft or 314.9inch. This fits wheels up to 22-inch diameter. For 16-17 inch wheels, the length can decorate 5 wheels and still leave some strip remaining. For 18-19 inch wheels, it can decorate 5 wheels. For 20-23 inch wheels, it can decorate 4 wheels. This sizing guide helps buyers estimate coverage before ordering, though exact usage depends on rim design and how much overlap is chosen.

Uses and Placement

These rim protector strips are intended for alloy wheel rims on cars. They can serve as a decorative trim or as a protective layer against minor scuffs. Fitting does not require a lifting jack or air-bleeding, so it can be done at home with basic tools.

Event or Professional Use

For car enthusiasts attending shows or meets, the strips offer a way to add colour to wheel rims. Ten colours are available: green, pink, red, orange, blue, black, silver, yellow, white and purple. This range allows matching or contrasting with vehicle paintwork. The strips can also be used by detailers or valeters who want to refresh the look of alloy wheels without removing tyres. The installation method is simple enough for quick turnaround in a professional setting.

Everyday Home Use

For everyday drivers, the strips help protect alloy rims from kerb scuffs and scratches. The universal fit and self-adhesive backing mean no special equipment is needed. One person can fit them using scissors to cut the strip. The strips are easy to replace if a section becomes damaged, so the rim can maintain a neat appearance over time. They are also lightweight and flexible, so they do not interfere with normal wheel operation.

Benefits and Buying Value

The main benefits are protection for alloy rims, easy fitting without a jack, and a choice of ten colours. The 8m length provides generous coverage, and the strips can be replaced individually. If a strip becomes scuffed or peels, it can be removed and replaced with a new section from the same set or a fresh set. The 3M tape is pre-applied, so replacement does not need extra adhesive. Cleaning the rim before fitting helps the tape bond well. The PET material is flexible and can be wiped clean as part of normal wheel washing. These low-maintenance characteristics support long-term use without complex upkeep.

Why Choose This Product

This product suits buyers who want to protect alloy wheels or add a colour trim without using a lifting jack. The 8m length fits wheels up to 22-inch diameter and can cover multiple wheels depending on size. The inclusion of 3M double-sided tape simplifies installation, and the ten colour options allow personalisation. Compared with traditional methods that may require more labour, these strips offer a straightforward DIY solution.
